Children'S mINISTRY

Purpose

The purpose of the Children's Ministry Team is to partner with parents to help kids know Jesus, grow in Jesus and go with him. We provide the best curriculum, programming and volunteers we can to invest in kids at church. But we recognize that parents are primarily responsible for the spiritual training of their children so we make it our mission to encourage and equip them to succeed in this all important task.

Components

  • Nursery
    We believe that from birth a child can be shown the love of Christ. Our goal is to introduce children to the joy of attending church and make their encounter with our nursery as delightful as possible. During the 11:00 am Worship Celebration times we offer childcare so parents can experience teaching, worship and adult interaction. During the 9:45 Life Development hour we have a time of teaching for our toddlers followed by a small snack of Cheerios, graham or goldfish crackers and water.     Ages: birth - 3 yrs (or until a child enters 3 year old Sunday School)
  • Sunday School
    We believe that children should be taught that the Bible is God's Word and it is relevant to their lives. Our goal is to guide them in life-changing Bible learning and encourage and promote Scripture memorization. Age-appropriate Bible lessons are taught each week in an engaging and active manner. High quality take-home resources are provided so parents can drive the lessons home, literally! The classes meet each Sunday from 9:30-10:30. Adults who bring children ages 3 through 1st grade should pick them up at 10:30. If you have any questions please contact us at office@gracelouisville.org
    Ages: 3 years - 5th grade
  • Children's Worship
    We believe that children can learn to praise and worship God starting at a young age. We seek to provide age-appropriate worship and teaching and to introduce and explain the components of a worship service (Lord's Supper, offering, etc.). During the 11:00 am Worship Celebration Pastor Mike will dismiss the children to their classrooms where they will stay until they are picked up after the service by their parent/guardian.   • Fusion
    Once a month (usually the first Wednesday) we gather as a whole church family to eat, play and grow together. Dinner is provided at 6 pm (donations accepted), followed by kid-friendly, active worship, creative teaching that ties in with what the kids are learning in Sunday School and a hands-on discipleship activity. FUSION is designed for kids (4-10) but our goal is to bring people together - kids, teens and adults; older women and younger women; older men and younger men; families of all kinds, at all stages of life - to love, encourage and support one another.
