Student Focus

Student FOCUS is committed to partnering with parents to help teenagers know, grow and go with Jesus. The parenting relationship shifts to more of a coaching model in the teen years, but parents remain the spiritual leaders in their homes - the Head Coaches. Student FOCUS provides Assistant Coaches to come alongside students as friends and mentors, to reinforce and supplement the goals and values of each family. Every Sunday morning at 9:30 am students gather in separate Middle School and High School classes for fellowship, Bible study and prayer. The ACs build relationships with the students in their worlds, helping each teen define and achieve his or her own goals for the school year. This results in all kinds of creative, student-initiated efforts to reach up (worship), down (service), in (fellowship) and out (evangelism) - activities, events, retreats and trips...

Students are also encouraged to plug into and serve in any area of the church in which they have developing gifts. We often see teenagers leading in worship, playing an instrument, helping with technology, serving with children or greeting guests at the door. FUSION - our monthly intergenerational gathering - is another great opportunity for students to share their hearts and abilities with the church family.
