You’re different… sort of.
You’re fascinatingly, beautifully unlike everyone else in the world. So is everyone else, of course, which is part of what makes this world such an amazing place to live. And then, it’s also why this world can be such a difficult place to live. Our preferences and perspectives get in each other’s way, and sometimes the result is less than beautiful.
What’s interesting about our differences is that underneath them, if we get down far enough, we find a set of desires that are just about identical. We all want to know we’re going to be OK in the end. We all want to be seen as OK. We all want to know we have some kind of significance beyond our physical survival. At a deep level, we’re more like each other than we are different.
The Bible acknowledges our differences and our similarities, along with the joys and challenges they cause for us. And it shines a light on the right path forward. It provides the two things we most need for our relationships: Wisdom and Redemption.
We’re sort of different too.
That’s what we’re talking about this summer. We’re exploring what it looks like, guided by the wisdom and redemption laid out in the Bible, to relate to one another in more skillful, life-giving ways. We’d love to have you join us, Sunday mornings at 10:45.
